    LET’S TALK LIFESTYLE VACCINES:
    HAVING THE CONVERSATION WITH PET OWNERS
    This presentation will outline the role technicians play in informing
    pet owners about non-core/lifestyle-dependent vaccines in dogs (specifically CIRDC, leptospirosis, and Lyme disease). This session will cover epidemiology, prevalence, and changes in distribution over time; risk factors, pathogenesis, and clinical signs; diagnostics; and prevention and vaccine protocols. It will also cover how to engage pet owners in conversations relating to vaccination.

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Review disease agents for canine infectious respiratory disease complex (CIRDC), leptospirosis, and Lyme disease.

    2. Understand the importance of investigating patient history.

    3. Develop effective tools for client communication, including tips for recommending lifestyle vaccines.

    All TC programs are approved for 1 hour of RACE Continuing Education

    EMPOWERING TECHNICIANS
    Become the diabetes Tech Champion of your clinic. From the first interaction you have with a pet owner to the diabetes conversation
    after diagnosis and throughout the long-term care of a diabetic pet, this presentation will empower you to support pet owners as they embark on the diabetes journey.

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Establish a productive dialogue with owners of pets with diabetes.

    2. Gain the tools and technical knowledge needed to support pet owners and their pets through the diabetes journey.

    3. Explore the importance of each step along this journey, from pre- diagnosis through long-term management.
